Furniture and Home Accents

Making your home cozy and inviting has never been on the top of our lists like it has been this past year. With quarantine lifting it’s now time to host guests. Heading to a 5 star resort may not be doable but a weekend visit by a besties just might be what you need.

Visitors Welcome

With extra time on our hands during quarantine my husband and I worked on carving out an inviting quiet and suite in our finished attic. We wanted a peaceful retreat that guests could feel like it was a luxurious getaway. We headed to HomeGoods and fell in love with all the global inspired furniture and accessories that fit right into our bohemian happy style.

Multifunctional Furniture

Our inspiration was this multi functional rattan and cane cabinet. It’s soft oval shape and airy style was the perfect piece for setting up a snack and drink station. We loaded the inside with an herbal tea set, healthy snacks, a fragrant eucalyptus candle and a crisp new cotton towel set all from HomeGoods.

I love that this cabinet can be used any where in the house! It can be used as a nightstand, foyer cabinet, home office storage or could even brighten up a bathroom.

The Check Out Aisle

What could be better than seeing a plate full of French macaroons after a long drive? I found a mini Carrera marble cake stand with glass cloche and piled high raspberry, lemon, and strawberry macaroons in the check out aisle along with a ceramic mug set and bright turquoise tea pot.

Two comfortable caned bamboo chairs made their way home with us. At just $99. each it was a no brainer!  We used one for the desk and tucked another in the corner that can easily be pulled up for dining for 2 or a place to drop bags, luggage and purses.

A Room With A View

The view from the desk looks out over our backyard. This quiet little nook is the idea spot for work from home. I have been helping clients carve out real estate in their homes to be productive and comfortable.

During the day this workspace is flooded with light. But for nighttime, I added a colorful floral brush stroke desk lamp from Kate Spade. I don’t know about you but I B-line directly to the lamp department once I get through those HomeGoods doors!

No space would be complete without a fabulous accent pillow. As a self proclaimed pillow junkie I am drawn to color and unique patterns. In our came the colorful boho batik pillows. They are so fun I had to get two!

Our Crazy, Fun, Loud & Happy Home

To cap off our guest suite Is a playful and “oh so true” framed art. We may not be quiet all of the time, but our home is filled with love, laughter, music, and an energetic rescue dog Bo. Our attic guest retreat is ready for friends and family to visit but you may find me sneaking up there basking in the sun, sketching or reading a good book. SHHH!
