A Boho style gathering is always such a simple and fun one to put together.

They are inviting and casual – which welcomes guests to kick off their shoes and enjoy themselves. Perfect for teens and adults alike – they are some of my favorite style gatherings to create for an warm afternoon or early evening get together.

This one was inspired by the beautiful bohemian fabrics and patterns
I found while shopping HomeGoods.

Here is a break down of what I used and how to create your own gathering. I have a pallet converted into a low table that I used for this – but you can easily bring a coffee table outside, use an ottoman or crates placed together to create a table.

1. Start with Several Rugs

I found several of the most beautiful throw rugs at HomeGoods and their color palette started the ‘look’ or theme of this table setting. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns and colors – a bohemian style table should feel ‘collected’ and gathered’ rather than carefully curated. Layer the rugs overlapping each other to create a base for your table and pillows.

2. Chunky Pillows

I found several styles of pillows that worked with the colors in the rugs. From soft muted yellows with that delicious texture and detail – to vintage style patterns with a bit of a pop of color.

You can use colorful pillows for a more vibrant look – or keep it simple and go with natural textures and muted neutral colors. Plop your pillows around your table to create a comfortable spot for guests to sit.

3. On the table

I found simple white modern style dishes at HomeGoods for the place settings. What I love about these are that they can be used everyday and also for a special occasion with their classic round shape and low edge. I mixed in a few jars for glasses along with elegant vintage stemware and vintage flatware.

4. Linens

Keeping that ‘collected and gathered’ theme going – I used several different napkins – from new linens from HomeGoods to vintage handkerchiefs. Don’t be afraid to mix and mingle each element and each place setting.

5. Serving Elements

I fell in love with this white and pink marble pastry board I found and it was the perfect size for tucking in the center of the table. I also used a carved wood bowl for a few fresh strawberries for guests to nibble on while waiting for lunch to be served.

6. Candles

Something I always pick up while at HomeGoods are candles.
In glass cups and in taper form. I love these twisted tapers and brought several packages home for using with my brass candlesticks. And several small glass candles are perfect for scattering on the table to create that ambiance.

7. Twinkle Lights

Don’t forget the ambiance overhead and as a backdrop as well.
When choosing a spot to set up your bohemian table – being near or under a tree is perfect for hanging string lights in branches and in the backdrop to create a glow.

Simple lights overhead illuminate the tabletop and in the background – LED trees add a lovely bit of golden glow and creates a charming view for guests.

Simple and charming – bohemian style tables and entertaining are perfect for warm spring and summer days out in the fresh air. And you can use these same elements to create a cozy spot for a casual lunch with friends around a coffee table indoors if you prefer.

Happy spring entertaining all!
