Entertaining with a Cocktail Party!
November 18, 2019
The holiday season is among us, and it’s the perfect time to start entertaining! A recent stay in a swanky hotel in Santa Barbara inspired me to head to HomeGoods to look for some new accessories that would capture that same feel and get my home ready for entertaining. Check out my stunning inspiration in these next two photos!
The holidays give us a chance to celebrate life, love, friendship and family. But, it’s also a time to showcase our homes, and create a warm and dazzling space for our guests to enjoy!
As I headed into HomeGoods to shop, I kept the feel of that swanky hotel in my mind. What I loved about the hotel was the simple black and white color scheme, vintage inspired cocktail accessories, antique brass pieces, and geometric patterns. Take a look at what I found, to get my house headed in that style direction.
I even created a fun DIY project with a great, mid-century modern inspired piece of furniture that I found at HomeGoods. Take a look at the transformation it received. I spray painted everything except the doors in gloss black. I kept the doors the natural wood, and then I added a geometric design using thin black tape. I love creating a custom piece from something I found at HomeGoods.
It is now the perfect bar area (and conversation piece) for my cocktail parties! I’ve topped it with a new tray, and filled it with pretty glassware and spirits.
I love how adding these pieces gave my living room a new-vintage look! It reminds me of something you would see in a movie!
The cocktails are great, but don’t forget to feed your guests too! I put together a nice charcuterie board, with meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts and crackers. I displayed everything on a great, round cutting board that I also picked up from HomeGoods.
If you want your guests to stay a while, put out a game to play. This nostalgic monopoly game suits the tone of the room too.
I hope I’ve inspired you to get your home ready for holiday entertaining! Whether you transform a whole room, or just pick up a couple of new accessories for your bar, HomeGoods is the place to go!
