Easy Updates for a Fresh New Look
September 24, 2019
It was time to give my dining room a new look, so I headed out to HomeGoods to be inspired! I thought I’d look for a new area rug and a new piece of art for my feature wall. In true HomeGoods fashion, I wasn’t disappointed in what I found! I actually found more than I had even planned! I just love to Go Finding! It’s so exciting!
This large piece of art had all the aspects I was looking for. I love the natural wood framed canvas, with the simple neutral design. These days, I am very inspired by simple and natural spaces.
Then, I found this gorgeous area rug! What I love is the muted color palette, with hints of blues, grays, browns and even a little bit of pink. It’s a piece that can be aligned with one, or many accent colors.
To top things off, I discovered these gorgeous cane back chairs. The white washed wood and the pale powder blue cushions worked perfectly with my new rug! I found five chairs at one location, and I had to go on the hunt for one more! I had my parent’s check out the HomeGoods near their house, and they found the sixth chair for me! Yes, they get in on the HomeGoods shopping too!
Before I knew it, a whole new look was coming together, seamlessly! These new pieces worked so well with my existing white washed floor mirror as well.
A simple clear glass vase, classic gold candle sticks, and tall vase on the floor with a faux fern stem, accent this area nicely.
I have this area adjacent to my dining room that wasn’t being used. I needed a small office area, so I decided to go looking for a writing desk. Again, I wanted something to tie in with the new look of the dining room, so I was happy to find this desk.
To tie in the warmer wood tones, I added this great chair too. It’s not a typical office/desk chair, but that’s what I loved about it. I added a fresh fiddle fig tree to a warm toned basket and a green glass bottle to the corner.
Previously, I had a silver rectangular mirror hanging on the wall. I wanted to change it to a round mirror with a natural texture. Once again, I discovered another treasure with this mirror, and it was on sale!! It also reflects my wood cutting boards hanging on the wall in the kitchen. I even picked up a new cutting board while I was at it!
I’m so happy with the changes to my dining room and surrounding areas. I’m also happy that I was able to find everything I needed in one place! HomeGoods is seriously my one stop shop for all things decor! What do you think of this transformation?
