Outdoor Living

When someone asks me to decorate their yard, I get so excited! This is easily one of my favorite areas of the home to do. Spring is here and summer is just around the corner which means a lot of outdoor entertaining. Having friends and family over is such a fun way to spend those long summer nights.

When I got this assignment I knew I had to make it a fun and cozy space for this family. They have 2 kids and a puppy and they LOVE to entertain! They always have friends and family over for bbqs and to cool off in their pool. Let’s get to it!

Would you have guessed that this coffee table is actually a fire pit? It belongs to the owners so I decided to get creative and figure out a way to put it to multiple use. I went to Home Goods and found a cute tray to put in the middle with some fresh greenery and colorful fruit. Whenever they want to build a fire, they just remove the tray and it’s ready for use!

This black piece of furniture was old and forgotten. I saw it as a great area to store dishes or even as a bar cart, there’s a million ways to reuse this! I went ahead and gave it a fresh coat of paint and turned it into a bar cart.

The pool area didn’t need much so I decided to keep it simple. I went ahead and added some greenery around as well as some super cute umbrellas. Can’t forget the chairs for sunbathing, and voila it’s ready for entertaining!

The couch doubles a daybed which is perfect for those hot summer days. I wanted to make it as cozy and inviting as possible so I piled on the pillows! Because let’s be honest, can you really have too many pillows? I love mixing patterns and adding some pops of color to keeps thing light and fun.

The budget for this space was a little small so I had to think of ways to get creative and spend less. I knew I wanted cool lighting so I had the idea of using baskets as chandeliers! I just bought 3 baskets in different sizes and hung them from a 3 bulb cord. In the end, I love the way it turned out and it looks expensive!

I added some garden stools as a way for guests to have extra table space. I think these are always a great staple in any backyard entertaining area.

I also wanted to have some extra seating in case it was needed and I thought a couple of poufs would be cute and sensible

I hope you got some inspiration for your entertaining area and have some fun times with friends and family. Thank you so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next time with more!
