Outdoor Living Seasonal Decor

Hola, Martin Amado here! As the host and designer of So Flo Home Project in Miami, and an interior decorator, I’m always looking for fresh pieces to brighten up indoor and outdoor spaces. That’s why I love shopping at HomeGoods for all my projects – I basically live there!

I always shop with an open mind and do a pre-design shopping trip to spark my creativity, exploring the aisles until I stumble upon pieces that ground my vision and inspire the rest of the design – it always feels like a treasure hunt. This time, it was definitely all about the colorful tropical prints! The prices at HomeGoods are also so incredible, I was able to grab everything I wanted (including prints of palm leaves, hibiscus flowers, flamingos, seashells and more) to make my vision a reality.

Here are my go-to tips for creating the spring home of your dreams:

1 – Boldly rearrange the room – My favorite way to refresh for spring is to rearrange existing furniture, swap out an area rug and update decorative accessories. HomeGoods is area rug heaven for me! While you’re there, grab accent pieces that are tropical-inspired, such as a silk orchid or nautical blue vases, for your living room coffee table.

2 – Put your personality on display – I love adding colorful throw pillows to brighten any space, even the dining room! And try melamine tableware both inside and outside – two super simple and durable ways to bring out your personality and show off your unique style.

3 – Don’t forget the bedroom – The bedroom is your tranquil place. The easiest way to bring in spring here is to switch out bedding. Mix and match colors and textures for an eclectic style that doesn’t feel cookie cutter. I’m obsessed with the color of the year – coral – and pairing it with earth tones for a 1970’s beach club vibe.

4 – Utilize indoor furniture outdoors – Think beyond the outdoor furniture section, especially if you have an area that is covered and protected from the weather. I put this stunning dining room table under the pergola, created a cozy seating area using a patterned lounge chair, and added a ton of statement pillows to really make it inviting – all these finds are from HomeGoods!

5 – Don’t forget the details – If you’re looking to give extra love to a certain area, incorporate planters in different heights to add a pop of color and texture. You can also add lanterns to make the space glow at night, so it’s always ready for evening adventures (like a nighttime swim or game of corn-hole).

This home is officially ready for spring! If you’re ready to create your own spring oasis, Go Finding at your local HomeGoods.
