Furniture and Home Accents Organization and Cleaning

As an entrepreneur, working actress and travel enthusiast, I am constantly on the go for work and pleasure. I relocated to New York City in December of 2017 and I realized that after traveling to Mexico, Korea and the Bahamas in the span of 4 months I felt incredibly inspired…until I returned. My space was functional, but not inspiring. The walls were still blank, and I was running my business from my bed because I had a desk with no chair. It was time for a change!

As a creative, having a specific aesthetic and point of view are very important when starting a new project. I was so excited to partner with HomeGoods to Go Finding and get inspiration to create a beautiful work space. While out on my first mission I spent the day visiting my favorite spots in NYC and falling in love with the city again. I realized I wanted to marry the boho chic feel of one of my favorite destinations, Tulum, with the city that has truly become my home, NYC. Now that I had a plan, I headed out to my local HomeGoods store and I was ready!

Any HomeGoods shopper is probably chuckling to themselves right now because while you may have a plan before you get there, once you walk in the door all bets are off! I started looking for organizational pieces for my office and ended up with baskets, pillows, artwork and a chair. It may sound like I was off track (ok maybe a little!), but the beauty of HomeGoods is that there is always an unexpected piece that can spark your creativity in a way you never imagined. I found a beautiful elephant print that ended up being the catalyst for the entire design.

I had a black accent wall in my apartment that has been sitting empty since I moved in. The large elephant print I found was the perfect anchor piece to build from. The artwork section of the store has SO many beautiful pieces that you can create your own museum moment for next to nothing.

Don’t be afraid to mix different frame finishes when making your wall. I mixed gold, distressed wood (a la Tulum) and traditional black frames to give the wall my own personality.

One of my hobbies is travel photography and this wall was the perfect way to display some of the photos I’ve taken over the years.

Gallery walls can be tricky, but play around with size and shape until you find the design you like.

Small seating like stools or ottomans are perfect for a small space. I was so excited to find this distressed denim stool! It reminds me of furniture you would find in boutique hotels in Tulum.

This shag rug from an earlier HomeGoods trip was the perfect piece to tie everything all together. HomeGoods has an amazing selection of high quality designer rugs at great prices.

After a trip to HomeGoods and some creativity, my workspace and mini gallery wall is now so special to me! The gold gallery frames I found have images that keep me inspired to keep creating and pushing forward.

Having the right scents in your space are also so important. This gorgeous oil diffuser was the perfect decorative touch for my desk…and the key lime coconut fragrance transports me to a tropical paradise right away!

This beautiful velvet chair I snagged (as I was at the end of my shopping trip no less) gives an elegant touch. Even though space is at a premium in New York apartments, it was important for me to create a dedicated area to work on my various projects. My brand Beauty by Africa Miranda is a luxury skin and beauty company inspired by travel; I wanted a well-appointed workspace that felt luxurious and I can definitely say that I have that now.

Thanks to HomeGoods now my work space truly feels like “me” and it is amazing! I feel alive in this space now and I am inspired to keep creating and living my most beautiful life. I hope that you visit HomeGoods and Go Finding to become inspired to tell your story and create spaces that encourage you to live bigger, bolder and more thoughtful lives.
