It may not feel like Spring just yet but this past week, I decided it was time to introduce Spring colors in the bedrooms and I found the most amazing blush, cream and gray bedding at HomeGoods. Some of you may know that we recently moved into a new home and first on the priority list was to get the kids bedrooms in order.  Today I am sharing the girls bedroom mixing in furniture pieces from our old house and new bedding from HomeGoods.

5 Blush + Gray Neutral Bedding Tips

My step-daughter’s opted for a queen bed for their bedroom in the new house as their twin beds (from our previous house) were getting short (they are tall) and a queen made more sense for this space. The are headed to College soon, have jobs and an active social life so they tend to visit for short periods on weekends and didn’t mind the idea of having a queen bed. I told them if they shared a queen bed, they may end up with a makeover every couple months. -ha. They kind of liked that idea ;).

Paint Color

The walls were recently painted by the previous owner before we moved in a steel gray color and we planned on painting the bedroom a different color until I found this bedding. When I found the white duvet and gray comforter I thought to myself, “this could work with the gray walls.” Needless to say, I brought it home and it looked great.

Add Texture

Texture can be added in many different ways. You will see that the throw pillows vary in texture.  What do I mean by texture? Fur, beads, embroidery, velvet, satin etc., those are different kinds of textures. The fur lamp shades, wreaths, throw blanket and pillows all add different texture to the space.

Wall Decor

These two silk wreaths were the most amazing find from HomeGoods two years ago and they made it from the old house to the new house. I remember when I found these blush colored wreaths, they basically dictated the style of the girls previous bedroom. I laughed to myself when I found this new bedding and decided on a blush and gray color scheme because I knew right away, these wreaths were going to look great! When working with a color scheme you love, be sure to add hints of the color throughout the room via decorative wall art of accessories.

The lamps are another amazing HomeGoods find and they are the most beautiful lamps on the planet. The fur blush colored lamp shades are so soft and coordinate perfectly with the theme in the room.

Layered Bedding

Layering your bedding is the easiest way to create a rich look in a bedroom. This bed not only has the sheets but is layered with a gray textured comforter, a blush satin and velvet quilt and a plush white embroidered duvet (filled with a down alternative comforter) and finished off with a gorgeous white faux fur throw.

Add Color

For this space, blush is my accent color and the throw pillows, quilt and lamps added the perfect amount of color to the space. The “G” wall art piece and the distressed frame above the bed added a 4th color which helped balance out the blush. The french doors open to a balcony which has a beautiful view of the backyard.

Stay tuned, I will be sharing more of our new house in the next couple weeks. Happy Spring and Happy #GOFINDING. As you can see, inspiration can hit anywhere! In this case it was seeing the colors in HomeGoods that led to our grey walls and set the stage for the rest of the look.
