With Easter just a couple weeks away, I’m excited to bring you into my apartment to show you how I created an elegant and cozy Easter table.

A while back, I moved from a 3,000 square-foot house to a 1,000 square-foot apartment. I was excited about this transition, but I knew I would miss the big dining space in my former home. When it came to decorating, setting and styling that space was one of my favorite things to do. It had a big wood table, a lovely chandelier, incredible wood details, and so much more. What I’ve learned from my move, however, is that any space can be beautiful. Even though I no longer have that dedicated dining room, I was still able to create a special and unique tablescape to celebrate Easter. Let me show you.

About a month ago, I was taking my usual weekly stroll through HomeGoods and stumbled upon this patterned coral throw in the clearance section. I was instantly attracted to its happy color, interesting pattern, and fringed edged detail. I also realized its size was just right for my round dining table.

On that same HomeGoods trip, I found these chic flower-rimmed plates. Serendipitously, the colors of a few of the flowers match my throw-turned-tablecloth. Sold!

From there the rest of the table came together seamlessly.

For my place settings, I started with white dinner plates. When I’m buying specialty plates such as these floral ones, I usually opt for the dessert or salad plates to save money. Stacked on white plates with a napkin, the smaller plates will still look and feel special. Plus, they are typically half the price of the large dinner plates.

I also decided to use plain white napkins. I didn’t want the napkins to distract from the bold tablecloth and detailed plates. Plus, white napkins are something I already had on hand.

I always like to add a touch of whimsy to my table design, and these clear glass bunny containers filled with gold-wrapped chocolate eggs were perfect. The gold works beautifully with the small touch of brass in my flatware.

With the plates in place, I set out a water glass and cocktail glass. For my cocktail glass, I chose a champagne flute as I’m serving a raspberry and pineapple mimosa. When setting your table, keep in mind what will be served. For example, if you’re having a salad, include a salad fork, or if there will be soup, set out a soup bowl.

To finish my table, I wanted to include a few more decorative details. Given the table’s size, I keep the decorations to a minimum. But flowers are a must, especially on Easter. I couldn’t resist classic mini-daffodils planted in a footed bowl with a small cluster of hyacinth for a pop of color. A few candles in glass holders were selected to match the glassware and daffodil blooms.

In lieu of traditional salt and pepper shakers, I used small marble bowls filled with each seasoning. Another quirky, but pretty touch. I set all of these decorative items on a tray so that, if needed, they can easily be moved during the meal. These decorative pieces can likewise be swapped out at the end of the meal, and the tray can be used for serving dessert.

And voila! My elegant and cozy Easter table is set. And to be honest, I’m no longer missing my old dining space. What do you think?
