Do you have a linen closet? We just moved last week and I am so excited to have a fairly large linen closet. I mean, it’s not gigantic but it is so much bigger than the one we had in our old house. If you have been following our blog for a while, you know my parents sold my childhood home where we have been living for the past 10 years. We moved into our new home last week (we are now 3 generations under one roof) and I won’t lie, it looks like a bomb went off inside. This Multipurpose Linen Closet is the only thing that is organized and looks good, thanks to HomeGoods!

I picked up a bunch of baskets at HomeGoods to store towels and sheets. I also decided to store extra toiletries in a basket as well. My husband has a habit of buying 3 of everything and while it’s always nice to have extra on hand, it’s usually a project finding a place to store it. Now that we have a bigger closet, we have room for a “back up” basket of items.

I purchased the clear plastic jewelry container at HomeGoods as well and decided it was perfect for my nail polish and hand creams. It is so nice having a place for everything! The shelves are tricky as smaller items fall through or tip over. That’s where the baskets and clear containers come in handy. They provide a solid surface for your items so they stay in place.

For now, this closet will serve as a place to store laundry items too. Our new washer and dry  arrived a couple days ago so until I get the shelving adjusted, a lot of the laundry stuff will live in this closet.

I lined the tile floor with drawer liners that I picked up at HomeGoods to add a little color to the floor and to keep some of the floor dust off the items. The liners are also scented so the closet smells good too!

The Housekeepers Box is by far, my favorite find at HomeGoods. It has a cute little shelf inside and came with a dust pan and broom. Isn’t it adorable? Needless to say, I am the Housekeeper so my husband told me this box is perfect for me. It’s amazing what a few baskets, bins and containers will do for a closet.

I may add another shelf towards the bottom just to give a little more space for towels but for now, this works perfectly. In case you are wondering, the sheets are stored inside the pillow cases. Aren’t they cute? They are like little grain sack bags. I have a cute tutorial coming soon over on our blog showing how I store sheets. January through March are great months to get organized and I am looking forward to getting our laundry room organized next. Stay tuned, lots of projects on the horizon!
