Setting the table for family and friends shouldn’t make anyone feel anxious. Keeping things simple and making the most out of what you already have is always the key. We are hosting Thanksgiving this year at our house and I’m planning on making my guests feel welcomed and at home. For this I’m using some foliage (for that fresh feeling) and our basic white plates mix with some interesting, yet neutral accessories.

This year, I chose to set the table under our pergola taking advantage of the cooler temperatures we are having here in Miami. I started by placing a beautiful light blue linen tablecloth with some delicate white stripes (a great find at HomeGoods).

For the centerpiece, I created a garland with fresh magnolia leaves, Juniper and Carolina Sapphire branches. I then added 3 outdoor lanterns with an amazing mix of textures on the glasses (these were from HomeGoods). I placed inside some candles with a soft fragrance that wouldn’t interfere with the food.

To set the plates I combined these resin chargers that had a whitewash wood texture with salad plates that were handmade at Portugal but found at HomeGoods.

These white stone napkin rings (a material similar to marble) were the perfect match for these contemporary flower designed napkins (both accessories are from HomeGoods).

On one of the sides this outdoor area I place a bar cart with some sweets. The serving dishes were perfect for adding a variety of cookies and yummy desserts (again, everything was found at HomeGoods). I am amazed at all of the treats they have there!

I can’t wait to have our family joining us for this dinner (especially since I have my table set already). The smell of the food, the music and the laughs will make such wonderful memories. Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? If you are, enjoy decorating your table and happy cooking!
