Summer outdoor entertaining is so much fun. To make this seasonal event a success, I’ve prepared a “hands on food” event with some delicious smoked ribs and the perfect finger snacks for my guests.

Ribs for me are the iconic summer food and this easy dry rub recipe will bedazzle everyone at your party. All you’ll need are:

-2 tbsp of salt
-2 tsp of garlic powder
-3 tbsp of brown sugar
-2 tbsp of ground coffee (I found mine at HomeGoods and decided on beans to ground at home for a fresher taste)
-ground pepper to your taste

Mix all of these ingredients and dry rub your ribs. Next, place them on a pre-heated smoker at 250° F for 3 hours (or if you prefer, use a pre-heated oven at 300° F for 3 hours).

Although I prefer my ribs without sauce, I know for a fact that HomeGoods has a wonderful selection of BBQ sauces. So, choose your combination!

While waiting for those ribs, I set up my drinks and appetizers station. At HomeGoods, I found two simple but beautiful beverage dispensers — perfect for a cold sangria and a fresh lemonade. These came with a stand that can also be used as an ice bucket!

After preparing some of my guests’ favorite drinks in the back, I placed an arrangement of tropical leaves on a corner of my gardening-table-turned-party-station to brighten up the area. I used two wooden pedestal boards as my serving trays, and all of the appetizers (including the olives) were great finds from HomeGoods.

This amazing, boat-shaped galvanized ice bucket held some imported bottle ginger ale and blood orange soda. (And all of this is also from HomeGoods!)

These appetizers deserve a cute plate, and I found the perfect ones with a beautiful tropical palm design that matches the arrangement. I have to say that this party was off to a good start. Just take a look at those ribs!

I hope you’re having a wonderful summer so far, and enjoy hosting your own seasonal party!
