Spring is right around the corner, which means warmer weather for Massachusetts. January through March are long months in New England and I personally love to start decorating for spring early. Today, I am sharing a few spring entertaining ideas with a fun table that can also transition nicely into Easter.

I recently visited my local HomeGoods and I found the most gorgeous dinnerware for spring. Everything on this table is from HomeGoods (even the candy)! What I love most about the tablescape is the amount of color. I decided to mix-and-match patterned dishes along with blue and pink glassware.

I normally incorporate a table runner when creating a tablescape, but this time I decided to let the white farmhouse table shine. The blue patterned placemats are thick and create a nice balance on the table.

I chose simple, white lace linens and tied a pink ribbon around them to create a napkin holder. I like how the lace softens the thick, hard-surfaced placemat.

My local supermarket had small outdoor plants on sale for $3 each, so I added some potting soil to one of my large silver bowls, popped in the plants and presto: a cute centerpiece. Flanked by long-stemmed flowers, the table looks fresh and inviting.

Cake stands work great for small muffins and cookies — or any food for that matter. I layered a pink egg hand towel under the cake stand to add a little texture and create visual appeal.

I will definitely be using the dishware for our Easter tablescape! The beautiful thing about colorful flowered dishes is that they can be used all season long through summer.

For Easter, I plan on adding these two adorable bunnies, along with few Easter eggs in the bowls. Kind of cute, right?

It’s never too early to start gathering cute, colorful dishware. Shop your house, pick up a few pieces you love at your local HomeGoods store and don’t be afraid to mix-and-match colors, patterns and textures. Spring entertaining should be fun!
