Does anyone else love a bright, welcoming bathroom? Personally, I am not a fan of bathrooms in public places (in fact, they gross me out). But in my own home or when visiting friends, I love a pretty bathroom. I prefer a bathroom with a spa feeling that exudes peace and serenity, similar to our recent bathroom remodel, below. Today I am sharing how you can achieve this look with a quick coat of paint and a few new accessories from HomeGoods.

I wanted to create a bright bathroom that was simple yet elegant. I also wanted to feel like I was in a spa when I entered the room.

Here is the bathroom before:

There are so many ways to brighten up your bathroom and what better timing, spring is here!

First, choose a wall and trim color. I love how this deep green color coordinates with the bright white trim. It definitely makes a statement. Once my bathroom was painted, I decided to also paint my vanity the same color as the trim. Bright white is fabulous in a bathroom!

Next, I decided to forego the traditional toilet paper holder and hang an inexpensive basket from HomeGoods on the side of the vanity. I love this! I purchased a coordinating trash basket and smaller basket for the toilet to hold bath salts and soap.

Whenever I do a makeover, I always try to find an accessory that is in the same color family as the walls. Whether it be a throw pillow, drapes or in this case, a shower curtain. I don’t mean you need to be completely matchy-matchy, but as you can see, the shower curtain ties in the wall color and creates a cohesive theme.

To finish off the space, I purchased a new satin nickel towel rod for above the toilet. I decided that a cute white frame with a pop of green inside added a bit more height to the area, which it was lacking before.

A spring bathroom makeover doesn’t need to be a huge project. By adding a new fresh paint color along with a few baskets and linens, you can have a brand new space in a weekend or even an afternoon if you are speedy!
