I am so ready for winter to be over. I decided to start pulling out our spring decor last week in an effort to hurry winter along. It’s not working as the snow continues to pile up on us in Massachusetts, but a girl can try right?
Throw pillows are my go-to decorating item and I will admit, I am addicted to buying them. (Aren’t these pillows from this HomeGoods room great?)
I have an entire closet filled with decorative pillows and, as writing this post reminds me, it’s time to donate a few in order to make room for more. They are inexpensive and offer versatility when changing the look of a room.
We have an off-white sectional in our family room (yes we have two dogs and three kids).
I love how navy and coral pillows look on our couch.
I love these different textured pillows in this photo above from HomeGoods.
These bright colors and patterns over at The Happy Housie are a great spring pick-me-up! Mixing a flower print, a stripe and a geometric pattern is a great way to add visual interest to a neutral colored sofa.
Centsational Girl coordinated blue and coral in her living room. The coral throw pillows pick up the coral in the tulips on the mantel. So pretty!
These black and white throw pillows from Bliss at Home coordinate nicely with the pops of black throughout the room.
Feeling you a need a bit of formality yet still want comfort? Try mixing contemporary blue and white patterned pillows as shown above from Traditional Home. If you’re looking for an easy way to create a cohesive look throughout a room, tie in accessories that are in the same color family as the throw pillows. If you notice, the green apples and blue book on the coffee table tie in with the green and blue pillows on the sofa.
Throw pillows are, by far, my favorite decorating accessory — that and a coordinating throw blanket. I am eager to boot out the winter theme in our family room and start fresh for spring. Perhaps Mother Nature will agree that Massachusetts has had enough snow for this winter and grace us with warmth and beautiful green grass soon!
