Outdoor Living for Fall

This is the perfect time of year for outdoor living and entertaining! The hot summer sun is subsiding, yet warm breezes remain as we welcome Fall.  I’ve recently updated my backyard a bit, and it happens to be a new favorite place in my home! Let me show you how I’ve decorated it.

I started with a little DIY project.  This coffee table was a great find from HomeGoods.  I was using it in my living room, but decided to bring it outdoors and give it a paint job! It was a natural wood color, but I spray painted it in a satin black to match my outdoor sofa.  It’s a very simple way to update the look of furniture.

I created two different living areas in my backyard for entertaining or relaxing.  This area is perfect for lounging and having quick bite to eat. I love the classic look of black and white stripes, so I was happy to find these gorgeous pillows to match my theme.

I recently hosted a little lunch for two on my newly painted coffee table. I love hosting friends and family get-togethers, especially now with the updates from HomeGoods!

I added a few Fall accessories, and of course a bit of pink. Since Halloween is just around the corner too, I thought it would be fun to add this adorable eyelash pumpkin, and pretty floral skull plates.

You can find a great selection of wood cutting and serving boards at HomeGoods, which are perfect for organizing a beautiful lunch platter.

One thing I make sure to get for outdoors is plastic stemware so always keep your eye out for it. It is so great for outside living – no worries about breaking a glass.

I’ve always wanted an outdoor bar cart, so I was very happy to find this teak one.  It’s so fun to style a bar cart plus they are really trendy right now.

You can add flowers, a few Fall pumpkins, and all of your drink essentials! I used this plastic juice pitcher to hold a bottle of rosé wine. Again, no worries about it falling over and breaking.

For the other section I created, I put a table and chairs in the yard, for more formal dining.

I wanted to match the other area to make so I used more black, white and pink pieces for the table. The great thing about black and white is you can always switch out the accent color for another later on. Right now pink is my go-to.

I also scored these white ceramic outdoor planters at HomeGoods, earlier this summer. Remember, when you see something you like in store, grab it before its too late!

With the updated outdoor spaces, my family and I will be spending as many Fall days out in the yard as we can. I hope I have inspired you to do the same! You have to take advantage of this weather when you can, so why not make a great space to spend time in? Happy Fall!
