I have done a LOT of room makeovers in my time, but I must say, without a doubt, working on a little girl’s room has been one of my favorite! When I was given the opportunity to remake this bedroom, I was so excited since I had not worked on a children’s room in a long time!

Samone is seven years old and is a very intelligent and independent little girl.  She paints her own nails depending on what color outfit she is wearing that day – I love that! She’s super girly and fun! That’s why when redecorating her room, I wanted to make sure it was something special. Her old bedroom had all her baby decor but as she’s growing, I want her bedroom to grow with her. Her father, Mario, was a little sad watching all her baby decor get replaced for something a little more mature, but in the end he was so happy with the results and I was even happier!

This is what her bedroom looked like previously. It wasn’t anything bad but it needed a WOW factor, so I obviously headed straight for HomeGoods. They have a section specifically for children decor – the prices are amazing and can accommodate any wallet and kid’s personality and style!

This is the bedroom after I was done redecorating it. I used black and white, which you may know, is my favorite color combination! It’s very in style right now when it comes to decor for children’s bedrooms. I decided to combine it with pink to give it that girly and sophisticated touch fit for a little princess.

I thought a mirror would be perfect for her glam style. If you’re adding a mirror to one side of the bed, don’t feel like you have to add a matching one to the other side. It’s not a rule written in stone and in general, you don’t always have to follow the rules! When it comes to decor, I always try to add my own twist, combine different styles, or try to be different than the rest. In this case, I added a cool frame to the other side. As long as it is a unique piece similar in size to the mirror, it works out just as well. Check out some of the pictures to see how beautiful and unique it looks!

Accessories are an important part of the decor process. I found this super cut elephant at HomeGoods in white and gold and it was easily one of my favorite finds.

Pillows come in all shapes, sizes, and patterns. Don’t be afraid to fill up the bed with them for a chic and fun look. I found these sheets in a fun gold and white polka dot print and I thought they would be perfect for her. The sheets play an important part when it comes to choosing the beds decor but the good thing is you can always change them for a little re-fresh.

The house is a rental so I knew I couldn’t paint the walls. I added some small removable vinyl stars to give the wall a different look. The wall was already painted in a soft white color so I wanted to make sure I could give it a bit of contrast. I think those gold stars did just that.

Small details make the biggest difference. I love this gold star shaped piggy bank and this frame with a sweet message. I also added in her baby shoes for a special touch to her adolescent bedroom.

A faux fur small bench in blush with gold legs has a modern look and not to mention it’s adorable. It was great find at HomeGoods and I couldn’t be happier! I also loved the multi-colored basket. I thought she could put whatever she wanted in there from pillows, toys, books, or anything that comes to mind. They’re practical and very convenient in children’s bedrooms. I wanted it to have a different look so I decided to add pom poms all around and voila! I love the end result and it looks more expensive than it actually was.

Paper flowers are a favorite staple of mine when it comes to decorating a little girl’s room. They looks super cute and they’re incredibly easy to make. The best part is that you don’t spend a lot of money and it gives the room a tender touch.

I hope you all enjoyed this bedroom transformation as much as I did. I loved being able to work on this room and see how happy Samone was once it was done. It was an amazing experience I won’t forget. And I hope you don’t forget that HomeGoods has everything you need when it comes to decorating your little princess’ bedroom. Or your little Prince. They have it all! Until next time everyone!
