Today’s guest blogger is Christy of 11 Magnolia Lane.

Now that it’s officially spring, we’re just a few weeks away from Easter, my favorite holiday. We usually host a large group of family and friends for Easter dinner, and every year I try to do something a little bit different with my holiday table. My blogging partner, Amy, is the same way, so I thought it would be fun to show off both of our Easter tables.

This year, I was inspired by this beautiful beaded floral table runner that I found at HomeGoods. I draped it over the width of the table instead of the length, which is one of my favorite entertaining tricks.

Blue and white is such a gorgeous color combination, and even though it’s timeless, it’s also very popular right now. The double happiness jar that usually decorates a shelf in our living room was pressed into service as a temporary vase. I think it really brings out the colors in the runner.

All of the goodies on the table, with the exception of the silverware and the blue willow plates, were scored at HomeGoods (and I’ve seen blue willow there recently, too!). The square bunny plates are probably my favorite thing on the table.

Amy found another set of bunny plates at HomeGoods this year, in pink and gold, and they served as her inspiration for a pastel-perfect Easter table.

She added texture by mixing and matching placemats, but kept to a more subtle color palette than I used. The pink and white awning stripes on the table runner tie everything together perfectly.

I’m in love with the sweet egg cups she found, too. Aren’t they the perfect Easter touch? We both used birds’ nests on several of the plates — completely unplanned — but they add a bit of spring to the table.

When it comes to Easter entertaining, even if we can’t agree on ham vs. lamb, at least we can all agree that a colorful and beautiful table setting makes the meal taste that much better!

Thanks for stopping by!

Christy blogs at 11 Magnolia Lane with her best friend (and former college roommate), Amy. Between the two of them, they’ve lived in nine houses during the past six years, so they pretty much keep HomeGoods in business.
